Support for Scleroderma

A person with a chronic disease needs a great deal of support – both physical and emotional.

To give such support and to increase public awareness and knowledge, the Association provides

A bi-monthly newsletter which is sent to all members, medical practitioners and Community Health Centres.

  • Informal meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (excluding January) in the Brisbane City Hall commencing at 10 a.m.
  • The Gold Coast group meets quarterly at the Palm Beach Surf Club. We have contacts in other regional centres which we hope to develop more fully during the rest of the year.
  • Information brochures and booklets are available on request free of charge. We have a special booklet produced bt Scleroderma Australia which is given free of charge to all members. It is on sale for $3.00 as is the sunflower lapel badge specially designed by Scleroderma Australia.
  • A resource library is constantly being updated and books on various aspects of Scleroderms, Raynaud’s & Sjogren’s are available on loan. A list of books is available in the "Articles" section.
  • The office in Brisbane is “manned” 3 mornings a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, by volunteers who suffer Scleroderma/Sjogrens themselves, and who can answer any enquiries or just ‘have a chat’ to anyone who needs a ‘listening ear’.
