Aust Rheumatology Assoc Meeting
Report by Chris Lloyd
I was privileged to fly to Adelaide as a new Queensland Delegate for Scleroderma Australia.
The event was the 50th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian Rheumatology Association from 17th to 21st May.
This was held in the Adelaide Convention Centre on North Terrace. I had the opportunity to meet the rest of the Scleroderma Australia committee from other states as well as make important contacts with many doctors and other health professionals.
Those attending had come from all over Australia and overseas. Our stall was well attended and we also approached doctors during their meal breaks and gave them information about Scleroderma. It was refreshing to see a familiar face - my own Ipswich specialist - and I took the opportunity to chat to him. He really appreciates the black book we have produced. He took quite a few of the new pamphlets entitled A HOSPITAL CHECKLIST – A Guide to Nursing Patients with Scleroderma. I brought back a few hundred of these for use in Queensland.
Above are a few of the signs on display at the meeting.
